WALKING THROUGH LANDSCAPE: LAKE DISTRICT AND NORTHUMBERLAND, JURA, AND THE ALPS

The exhibition Walking through Landscape: Lake District and Northumberland, Jura and the Alps was held in 2009. The photographs of the Alps highlight a 180 kilometre walk from Chamonix, France, to Zermatt, Switzerland. This route was first charted as a summer mountaineering route by members of the Alpine Club (UK) in the mid 19th century, with the aim to walk from the region of Mont Blanc to that of the Matterhorn.
